Clinical Interventions in Aging Aug 10, 2017
Lin J, et al. – This study was meant to create and validate a novel clinical screening tool to detect primary osteoporosis by dual–energy X–ray absorptiometry (DXA) in two elderly Han Chinese male populations. Researchers reported that as a tool for detection of the elderly male at increased risk for osteoporosis, the Beijing Friendship Hospital Osteoporosis Self-assessment Tool for Elderly Male (BFH-OSTM) might perform well. In addition, data indicated that its application would result in a more prudent use of bone mineral density (BMD) measurement by DXA, especially for Han Chinese male.
