Jia W, et al. - Whether or not hypothermia treatment of hypoxia-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) remains effective within 12 h after birth was determined. Initiating hypothermia therapy < 6 h and 6–12 h after HIE exhibited curative effects in newborns with moderate HIE. It was also reported that only starting hypothermia therapy within 6 h led to curative effects in patients with severe HIE.
