Basophils from allergic rhinitis patients show allergen-specific upregulation of thymic stromal lymphopoietin receptor

Annals of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Feb 05, 2018

Arai T, et al. - In order to gain a better understanding of allergic rhinitis (AR) diagnosis, researchers looked for differences among patients with AR, subjects with asymptomatic sensitization (AS), and subjects without sensitization (NS). Findings revealed that allergen stimulation specifically upregulated thymic stromal lymphopoietin receptor (TSLPR) expression on basophils, which might be useful for the identification of the causative allergen in patients with AR.
