Baseline 24-2 central visual field damage is predictive of global progressive field loss

Garg A, et al. - Researchers intended to analyze if the presence of localized baseline damage to the central ten degrees of the visual field (VF) was speculative of faster global mean deviation (MD) progression in glaucoma patients. Herein, a prominent relation was observed between the presence of central VF damage at baseline with more rapid global progression. It was noted that the identification of central VF damage assisted in the stratification of high-risk patients possibly required intensive surveillance and aggressive therapy.
