Self WH, et al. - An exploration was conducted of the comparative clinical effects of balanced crystalloids and saline in noncritically ill patients in the Emergency Department who were subsequently hospitalized outside an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). No variation was reported in the hospital-free days between treatment with balanced crystalloids and treatment with saline among noncritically ill adults treated with intravenous fluids in the Emergency Department.
