Liu C, et al. - Researchers compared the efficacy and safety of balanced crystalloids with normal saline for fluid resuscitation in critically ill patients in this meta-analysis of nine randomized, controlled trials using Revman 5.3, trial sequential analysis (TSA) 0.9, and STATA 12.0. Balanced crystalloids and normal saline groups showed no significant differences in mortality, the incidence of acute kidney injury, or renal replacement therapy use rate. However, no conclusive evidence was gained in TSA.
