Yuan GJ, et al. – Aim of this study is to examine whether autophagic cell death is involved in hyperthermic sensitization to ionizing radiation in human hepatocellular carcinoma cells, and to investigate the underlying mechanism. In hyperthermic sensitization of cancer cells to ionizing radiation, autophagic cell death is involved, and its induction may be because of the increased intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS).
