Automated segmentation of cerebral deep gray matter from MRI scans: Effect of field strength on sensitivity and reliability
BMC Neurology Sep 16, 2017
Chu R, et al. - The sensitivity and reliability of deep gray matter nuclei (DGM) volumes obtained from 1.5T vs. 3T MRI were compared. The clinicians found slightly higher sensitivity and reliability of DGM volumes obtained from 3T compared to 1.5T MRI. Further studies needed to evaluate the role of this 3T pipeline in tracking potential multiple sclerosis (MS) neurotherapeutic effects.
