Automated insulin dosing guidance to optimise insulin management in patients with type 2 diabetes: A multicentre, randomised controlled trial
The Lancet Feb 27, 2019
Bergenstal RM, et al. - In this multicenter, randomized, controlled study, researchers assessed the superiority of d-Nav device in combination with healthcare professional support vs healthcare professional support alone. Eligible study participants included those aged 21-70 years with type 2 diabetes and a concentration of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) of ≥ 7.5% and ≤ 11% who used the same insulin regimen for 3 months. Compared with support from healthcare professionals alone, the combination of automated insulin titration guidance with support from healthcare professionals provides superior glycemic control. Such a solution facilitated the safe and effective titration of insulin in a large group of patients with type 2 diabetes, and it is now necessary to evaluate these findings and study cost-effectiveness in large healthcare systems.
