Autoimmune bullous diseases in non-HIV Kaposi's sarcoma: A retrospective study in a large cohort of patients
Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Jun 10, 2018
Tourlaki A, et al. - In a large cohort of non-HIV Kaposi's sarcoma (KS) patients, the frequency of bullous diseases was evaluated. They also described their experience with the clinical features, natural history and treatment options in this setting. The hypothesis that human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) may be involved in KS pathogenesis was supported based on the finding that among patients with KS, bullous diseases were more frequent. Data demonstrated the need to consider the KS-inducing potential of corticosteroids when evaluating therapeutic management of these cases.
