Audiologic gain of incus short process vibroplasty with conventional incus long process vibroplasty: A retrospective analysis of 36 patients

Lee JM, et al. – The audiological and non–audiological benefits of incus short process (SP) vibroplasty were compared with conventional incus long process (LP) vibroplasty. Results suggested that for the treatment of patients with sensorineural hearing loss, SP vibroplasty with the newly invented SP coupler could be a good alternative compared to conventional LP vibroplasty. Although both SP vibroplasty and LP vibroplasty had good outcomes. However, the SP offered a shorter operation time and duration of hospital stay as well as fewer complications.
