Attenuated heart rate recovery in children and adolescents with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome
Pediatric Research May 14, 2020
Wang H, Feng L, Zheng H, et al. - This is the first study that focuses on assessing the role of heart rate recovery (HRR) in Chinese children with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS). In total, 161 individuals [87 healthy controls, 35 mild OSAS patients and 39 moderate-severe OSAS patients] were included. In order to explore the connection between HRR and polysomnographic parameters, Pearson correlation analysis and multivariable linear regression analysis were used. HRR was closely related to OSAS severity, indicating that HRR may be a promising index for risk stratification and clinical management of OSAS in children and adolescents.
