Atherothrombotic risk stratification after acute myocardial infarction: The TIMI Risk Score for Secondary Prevention (TRS-2P) in the light of the FAST-MI registries
Clinical Cardiology Dec 13, 2018
Puymirat E, et al. – Using data from three 1-month French registries conducted 5 years apart from 2005-2015, researchers evaluated The TIMI Risk Score for Secondary Prevention (TRS-2P) in the FAST-MI registries. This study included 13,130 patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI; 52% ST-elevation myocardial infarction). Data were analyzed for 12,715 patients (in whom TRS-2P was available). The efficacy was analyzed in three groups of patients: G1 (low-risk; TRS-2P=0/1), G2 (intermediate-risk; TRS-2P=2), and G3 (high-risk; TRS-2P ≥ 3). They found that residual risk of death at 1-year was successfully defined by TRS-2P: 1-year survival was 98%, 94%, and 78.5% in G1, G2, and G3 (P < 0.001), respectively. Overall, TRS-2P allowed detection of patients at high-risk after AMI regardless of MI type and historical period and appeared to be a robust risk score.
