Asthma management among allergists in Italy: Results from a survey

Magnoni MS, et al. – In order to highlight pitfalls and unmet needs concerning real–life asthma management, experts assess how Italian allergists approach asthmatic patients. By regularly seeing their patients, allergists are involved in the management of asthma. In these patients, they indicate the persistence of co–morbidities. These co–morbidities appear to negatively impact disease control. In view of the efficacy of a combination of long acting beta agonists (LABA) and inhaled steroids, and its rapidity in gaining asthma control than inhaled corticosteroids alone, they highlight it as the treatment of choice for most asthmatic patients.
