Ortega H, et al. - The association of asthma exacerbations with enhanced decline in lung function in patients with severe asthma was investigated herein. In patients with severe eosinophilic asthma, a direct relationship was evident between the number of exacerbations and decline in lung function. Furthermore, the possible association of repeated exacerbations with accelerated loss of lung function was also indicated.
