Associations of time of day with cardiovascular disease risk factors measured in older men: Results from the British Regional Heart Study
BMJ Open Nov 24, 2017
Sartini C, et al. - The intent of the researchers was to investigate the correlations of the time of day with cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors measured in older men. A variation was reported in the markers of inflammation [interleukin-6 (IL-6)], haemostasis [tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA)] and a cardiac marker [N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP)], by the time of day. The contribution of time of day to variations in these markers appeared to be small. It was not relevant for the risk prediction of CVD .
