Associations of sirtuins with clinicopathological parameters and prognosis in non–small cell lung cancer
Cancer Management and Research Sep 20, 2018
Gong J, et al. - Researchers used TCGA data to determine and compare the associations of sirtuins (SIRT1–7) mRNA levels with clinicopathological parameters and prognosis in non-small cell lung cancer (NCSLC). A longer overall survival (OS) time in relation to high SIRT2, SIRT4, and SIRT6 expressions was suggested by Kaplan-Meier plot curves and univariate Cox proportional regression analyses. An association of SIRT2 and SIRT6 with OS was also indicated in multivariate analyses. In univariate analyses, a significant relation of high SIRT1 expression to shorter recurrence-free survival (RFS) time; association of high SIRT2-3 and SIRT5-7 expressions with longer RFS time was revealed. Based on the findings, they concluded that, in NSCLC, sirtuins might afford the potential therapy targets and prognostic biomarkers.
