Associations of sensitive cardiac troponin-I with left ventricular morphology, function and prognosis in end-stage renal disease patients with preserved ejection fraction
Heart and Vessels May 29, 2018
Otsuka K, et al. - In this prospective study, researchers inquired the association of cardiac troponin I (cTnI) with LV morphology and function, and its long-term outcome in hemodialysis (HD) patients with preserved left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). All-cause death and cardiovascular death were considered as the primary endpoint and secondary endpoint, respectively. Findings demonstrated that independent of echocardiographic variables and other biomarkers, a significant association of serum cTnI levels with diastolic function and risk of mortality was observed in HD patients with preserved LVEF.
