Associations of four common VDR polymorphisms with rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus: Evidence from a meta-analysis
Lupus Apr 21, 2020
Zhang WT, et al. - Researchers conducted this meta-analysis with the aim to better clarify relationships of polymorphisms in vitamin D receptor (VDR) with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Searching Pubmed, Embase, WOS and CNKI, they identified 37 studies for inclusion in this meta-analysis. Overall combined analyses revealed RA to be significantly associated with VDR rs1544410 and rs731236 polymorphisms. Further, SLE was observed in significant correlation with VDR rs1544410, rs2228570 and rs731236 polymorphisms. Per subgroup analyses, Asians mainly exhibit significant associations between VDR polymorphisms and RA/SLE.
