Associations of an abnormal physiological score with outcomes in acute intracerebral hemorrhage: INTERACT2 Study

Stroke Jan 15, 2021

Song L, Wang X, Ouyang M, et al. - In spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage, researchers sought to determine how physiological abnormalities (systolic blood pressure, glucose, and body temperature) and warfarin use are correlated with outcomes. They conducted post hoc analyses of INTERACT2 (Intensive Blood Pressure Reduction in Acute Cerebral Hemorrhage Trial) contrasting systolic blood pressure control (< 140 vs < 180 mmHg) in 2,839 hypertensive patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (onset < 6 hours). Poor results in intracerebral hemorrhage have been associated with the combination of abnormal physiological parameters and warfarin use. The results of their early control are explored in INTERACT3 (Intensive Care Bundle With Blood Pressure Reduction in Acute Cerebral Hemorrhage Trial).
