Associations between magnetic resonance imaging findings and clincopathologic factors in triple-negative breast cancer
Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography Mar 22, 2019
Choi BB, et al. - In patients with triple-negative breast cancer, researchers assessed the magnetic resonance imaging findings related to clinicopathologic factors. For this investigation, they included 101 patients with surgically confirmed triple-negative breast cancer who had preoperative breast magnetic resonance imaging with diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI). They visually evaluated the presence of rim enhancement on contrast-enhanced T1-weighted imaging and hyperintense rim on DWI. There was no significant relationship between hyperintense rim on DWI and apparent diffusion coefficient values with clinical-pathologic factors. According to findings, rim enhancement in patients with triple-negative breast cancer was significantly related with positive LVI status. The study findings suggested that rim enhancement could be helpful to predict the prognosis.
