Associations between genomic variants in alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) genes and alcohol symptomatology in American Indians and European Americans: Distinctions and Convergence
Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research Sep 01, 2017
Peng Q, et al. – The study aimed to determine the relationships between genomic variants in alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) genes and alcohol symptomatology in American Indians (AI) and European Americans (EA). Results of this study suggested that ADH variants, both common and rare, are more likely to affect risk for alcohol–related symptomatology in this AI population than in this EA sample and ADH variants that might affect AUD are likely different but convergent on similar regions between the two populations.
