Associations among mucosal and transmural healing and fecal level of calprotectin in children with Crohn's disease
Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology Mar 09, 2018
Nakar I, et al. - An inquiry was set up with regard to the associations among mucosal and transmural healing and levels of calprotectin and c-reactive protein in children with Crohn's disease (CD). Herein, one-third patients reported healing in only the mucosa or the bowel wall (not both). Children with mucosal healing were identified through the levels of fecal calprotectin below 300 μg/g. Nevertheless, a lower cutoff value (below 100 μg/g) was warranted for detecting children with deep healing.
