“Association Splitting” vs cognitive remediation in obsessive-compulsive disorder: A randomized controlled trial

Jelinek L, et al. - Researchers aimed at investigating the acceptance and benefits of therapist-assisted Association Splitting (AS) as an add-on to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Although patients’ acceptance of AS was good, no clear additional effect of AS beyond CBT treatment was evident. As post hoc analyses revealed the superiority of AS on excluding control patients who had obtained information on AS, researchers suggested considering contagion effects.
