Association of visual impairment in neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder with visual network reorganization
JAMA Neurology Jan 06, 2018
Finke C, et al. - This study was designed to explore whether visual impairment in neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) correlated with adaptive functional network reorganization. An association of impaired visual function and retinal damage was found with the selective reorganization of the visual network in NMOSD. These findings improved the understanding of visual system dysfunction in NMOSD and, more generally, provided insight into pathophysiologic responses of the visual system to impaired visual input.
