Goldstein ND, et al. - Experts determined the association of vaccine-preventable disease (VPD) incidence with proposed state vaccine exemption legislation. The number of VPD outbreaks was noted to be rising in the United States. A primary factor in disease transmission was susceptible, nonimmune children whose parents have chosen to release them from school-entry vaccination necessities. Moreover, former research revealed a concerning rise in the volume of state legislation introduced to increase releases.
