JAMA Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery Feb 27, 2019
Graboyes EM, et al. - Between January 1, 2007, and February 28, 2018, authors examined the relationship between treatment delay and oncologic consequences in cases with head and neck cancer (HNC) using the National Cancer Database. They noted a correlation between longer diagnosis to treatment initiation (DTI) and poorer overall survival, proposing DTI delay thresholds from 21 days to 120 days or more. Postoperative radiotherapy and treatment package time (TPT) were associated with survival for subjects with HNC.
