BMC Endocrine Disorders Nov 01, 2017
Wolide AD, et al. - A cross-sectional study was carried out to see the relationship of trace metals elements and lipid profile among type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Researchers found a negative correlation between trace metal elements (Zn+2, Mg+2, Cr+3, Ca+2 and Fe+3) and lipid profile (TC, LDL-C and TG) among type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. In addition, Ca+2 seen to be related to TG. Future studies are highly advised to reveal the bidirectional relationship between trace metal element and dyslipidemia in diabetic patients.
