Association of soluble interleukin‐2 receptor α and tumour necrosis factor receptor 1 with heart failure: The Multi‐Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis
ESC Heart Failure Mar 23, 2020
Bakhshi H, Varadarajan V, Ambale‐Venkatesh B, et al. - Researchers analyzed a multi‐ethnic population of middle age and older participants from the multi‐ethnic study of atherosclerosis (a prospective population‐based study), to examine the link of soluble tumour necrosis factor‐α receptor 1 (sTNF‐αR1) and soluble interleukin‐2 receptor α (sIL‐2Rα) with incident heart failure (HF). This link was assessed using Cox proportional‐hazards model and following adjustment for traditional cardiovascular risk factors as well as coronary artery calcium score evaluated by cardiac computed tomography. In this multi‐ethnic cohort without a prior history of cardiovascular disease, findings revealed a higher risk of incident HF in correlation with sTNF‐αR1 and sIL‐2Rα.
