Association of socioeconomics with prevalence of visual impairment and blindness
JAMA Ophthalmology Oct 27, 2017
Wang W, et al. - This research probed into the associations between the prevalence of visual impairment with socioeconomic factors at country levels. It intended to model and compute a socioeconomic-adjusted disease burden based on the yielded results. A close correlation was reported among the burden of visual impairment and socioeconomic indicators. It could assist in determining the countries requiring greater attention to such concerns. The obtained regression modeling could present an opportunity for identifying the suitable public health targets which were consistent with a countryÂs level of socioeconomic development.
