JAMA Neurology | Oct 25, 2017
Leng Y, et al. - This study intended to illustrate a quantitative synthesis of population-based studies on the link between sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) and risk of cognitive impairment. A connection was found between the sleep-disordered breathing with an increased risk of cognitive impairment and a small worsening in executive function. In order to identify the mechanisms associating these common conditions and to determine if the treatment of SDB reduced the risk of cognitive impairment, prospective trials were required.
