Lipids in Health and Disease | Dec 12, 2017
Du SX, et al. - Researchers resolved to estimate serum ferritin (SFL) between the groups as below: Patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) against control group; non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) patients against control group; non-alcoholic fatty liver (NAFL) patients against a control group and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) patients vs NAFL patients. The yielded data reported elevated level of SFL in patients with NAFLD (NAFL and/or NASH) compared with the controls. A rise was noted in the level of SFL in NASH when compared to NAFL. It was observed that the result remained unaltered after the elimination of studies targeting pediatric or adolescent cohorts.
