Association of serum biomarkers with outcomes of cardiac arrest patients undergoing ECMO
The American Journal of Emergency Medicine Mar 16, 2018
Zhang Y, et al. - The authors performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to summarize the associations between the common biochemical biomarkers, such as serum lactate and creatinine, with clinical outcomes in cardiac arrest patients treated with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Findings suggested an association of high serum lactate level with poor survival and poor neurological outcome in these patients. They also identified a slight significant association of high creatinine with poor survival.
