Saulnier PJ, et al. - In a study population of American Indians with type 2 diabetes without diabetic kidney disease (DKD) or with early DKD, researchers evaluated the prognostic utility of serum amyloid A (SAA). They found that in American Indians with type 2 diabetes, higher circulating SAA concentration was related to an attenuated risk of end-stage renal disease (ESRD).
