Association of serum ADAMTS7 levels and genetic variant rs1994016 with acute coronary syndrome in a Chinese population: A case control study
Atherosclerosis Jun 27, 2018
Lin Y, et al. - Given the key role of metalloproteinase ADAMTS7 in atherogenesis, researchers investigated the association of serum ADAMTS7 levels and rs1994016 polymorphism at ADAMTS7 locus with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) in 1,881 consecutively recruited Chinese patients who underwent coronary angiography, of whom, 426 patients were matched for case-controlled analysis. Using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR), they detected serum ADAMTS7 levels and rs1994016 polymorphism, respectively. They found that serum level of ADAMTS7 was positively associated with the risk of ACS. They also observed a negative association of rs1994016 CT/TT genotype with the risk of ACS. In a Chinese population, ACS was less likely to occur in patients with lower serum ADAMTS7 level and rs1994016 CT/TT genotype.
