Association of peak atrial longitudinal strain with atrial fibrillation recurrence in patients with chronic lung diseases following radiofrequency ablation
Internal Medicine Journal Jul 01, 2018
Bai Y, et al. - Researchers assessed the association of baseline atrial function with atrial fibrillation (AF) recurrence in patients with chronic lung diseases (CLDs) following radiofrequency ablation (RFA) using speckle-tracking echocardiography. In 87 AF subjects with CLDs undergoing RFA from 2013 to 2014, average strain values were calculated. The present data indicated that peak right atrial longitudinal strain (R-PALS), peak left atrial longitudinal strain (L-PALS) and combined R-PALS and L-PALS were crucial factors correlated with AF recurrence following RFA in subjects with CLDs.
