Lipids in Health and Disease Aug 23, 2018
Tang Q, et al. - In this meta-analysis, researchers investigated the specific relationship between the expression level of circulating adiponectin and osteoarthritis (OA). They analyzed 10 articles consisting of thirteen case-control studies that contained a combined total of 1255 subjects. Results revealed higher adiponectin levels among OA patients than the healthy controls. As per ethnicity-stratified subgroup analysis, both Caucasians and Asians have the adiponectin as a sensitive biomarker. Heterogeneity in this study was partly due to the sample size and nationality.
