Association of obesity with survival in patients with endometrial cancer
Gynecologic Oncology May 08, 2019
Van Arsdale A, et al. - In this study including 1,732 women with endometrial cancer, researchers assessed how survival in these subjects was influenced by obesity. They derived histopathological, treatment and demographic data from women who have received a diagnosis of and treatment for endometrial cancer from 1999 to 2016. Using the Social Security Death Index, they ascertained death. With Stata version 14.0, Kaplan Meier survival curves and Cox regression modeling was carried out. Findings revealed the correlation of younger age at diagnosis and earlier stage disease with obesity. Improved disease specific survival for stage 3 and 4 non-endometrioid endometrial cancers was also linked with obesity.
