Association of noninfectious pneumonia with ustekinumab use
JAMA Dermatology Dec 16, 2018
Brinker A, et al. - Authors identified and evaluated 12 post-marketing case reports of noninfectious pneumonia related to ustekinumab use in this retrospective analysis. They analyzed the cases of noninfectious pneumonia associated with ustekinumab use for baseline and demographic information, reason for ustekinumab use, symptoms, time to onset, dose sequence, laboratory and diagnostic information, and clinical outcome. Overall, they found that noninfectious pneumonia was associated with the use of ustekinumab. A new warning for ustekinumab users regarding the risk of developing noninfectious pneumonia was added as a result of these findings.
