Association of neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio on 90-day functional outcome in intracerebral hemorrhage patients undergoing surgical treatment
World Neurosurgery Aug 16, 2018
Zhang F, et al. - Researchers conducted the first study focusing on the associations between neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and functional outcome in surgical patients with spontaneous intracranial hemorrhage (sICH). They also summarized contribute factors of NLR and the independent predictors for functional outcome of patients with surgical strategy. Observations revealed unfavorable outcome in 59 ICH patients with surgical treatment, in association with higher admission NLR, lower GCS and larger hematoma. Compared to other laboratory variables, NLR showed the best predictive power and was also found to have a linear correlation with GCS at admission, hematoma volume, ANC (absolute neutrophil count), ALC (absolute lymphocyte count) and hydrocephalus.
