Association of lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 and risk of incident atrial fibrillation: Findings from three cohorts
American Heart Journal Dec 14, 2017
Garg PK, et al. - Researchers, herein, explored the link between lipoprotein-associated phospholipase AA2 (Lp-PLAA2) mass and activity and incident atrial fibrillation (AF) in three cohorts, namely Atherosclerosis Risk In Communities (ARIC), Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA) and Cardiovascular Health Study [CHS; a cohort of older individuals]. Findings revealed an association of higher Lp-PLAA2 mass and activity with development of AF in ARIC and MESA, however, this link was not observed in CHS.
