Wyrobek J, et al. – An association of intraoperative decreases in brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) levels with postoperative delirium was assumed by researchers. In this current study, it was shown that intraoperative decline in plasma BDNF was related to delirium. Results indicated that plasma BDNF levels may be a biomarker for postoperative delirium.
