Association of hysteroscopic vs laparoscopic sterilization with procedural, gynecological and medical outcomes
JAMA Jan 31, 2018
Bouillon K, et al. - A comparative scrutiny was conducted of the risk of reported adverse events between hysteroscopic and laparoscopic sterilization in this French nationwide cohort study. When compared to laparoscopic sterilization, the use of hysteroscopic sterilization illustrated a notable correlation with a higher risk of gynecological complications over 1 year and over 3 years among women undergoing first sterilization. No substantial increase was reported in the risk of medical outcomes over 1 year or over 3 years. Hence, data did not support the occurrence of increased medical risks associated with hysteroscopic sterilization.
