Association of habitual glucosamine use with risk of cardiovascular disease: Prospective study in UK Biobank
BMJ May 20, 2019
Ma H, et al. - In order to evaluate the relation between the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) events and habitual glucosamine use, researchers conducted a study involving 466,039 participants free from CVD at baseline who completed a questionnaire on supplement use, including glucosamine. The participants were followed up for 10 years. They found that lower risks of CVD events may be associated with the regular use of glucosamine supplements taken to ameliorate osteoarthritis pain.
