Aoyama H, et al. - In mechanically ventilated patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome, driving pressure may be more important than traditional ventilatory variables in determining outcome, as suggested by a recent post hoc analysis. This current inquiry was set up to summarize the risk of mortality for higher vs lower driving pressure. Findings of this study corroborated a link between higher driving pressure and higher mortality in mechanically ventilated patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome.
