Association of dialysis with in-hospital disability progression and mortality in community-onset stroke
Nephrology Jul 02, 2018
Usui T, et al. - The link between dialysis therapy and in-hospital disability progression or mortality in patients with community-onset stroke was assessed using the Japanese Diagnosis Procedure Combination database, which includes administrative claims and discharge abstract data. Researchers recognized 435,403 patients with community-onset stroke, of these, 7,562 (1.7%) received dialysis therapy. Observations suggested an increased risk of in-hospital disability progression and mortality in association with dialysis among patients with community-onset stroke, regardless of stroke subtype.
