Bjorkenstam E, et al. - Experts aspired to investigate whether adolescent violent offending mediated the relationship between childhood adversity (CA) and suicide in early adulthood. A high risk of suicide was observed in individuals with a history of CA who also engaged in violent offending in adolescence. During childhood, interventions to prevent externalizing behavior and increased support to youths with delinquent behavior could have the potential to prevent suicide related to CA.
