Nikiphorou E, et al. - Authors studied the association between comorbidities and key disease outcomes in spondyloarthritis (SpA), namely function, work ability, and quality of life. Findings suggested an adverse effect of the comorbidities in SpA on the physical function, work ability, and quality of life. These are important to be taken into account in daily clinical practice. Experts noted an independent correlation of Rheumatic Disease Comorbidity Index (RDCI) with a higher Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index score, lower EuroQol 5-domain questionnaire, less work employment, higher absenteeism, and higher presenteeism.
