Association of clinical factors with a major pathologic response following preoperative therapy for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma
JAMA Surgery Nov 21, 2017
Cloyd JM, et al. - The clinical factors associated with major pathologic response were determined in a large cohort of patients who underwent pre-operative therapy and pancreatectomy for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Despite the infrequent occurrence of a major pathologic response following pre-operative therapy for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, the response appeared to be associated with a significantly improved prognosis. Among the patient- and treatment-related factors, only young age, low baseline cancer antigen 19-9 level, and gemcitabine as a radiosensitizer were associated with a major pathologic response.
