Association of circulating resistin, leptin, adiponectin and visfatin levels with Behcet disease: A meta-analysis

Clinical and Experimental Dermatology Apr 28, 2018

Lee YH, et al. - Experts ascertained the association between circulating blood adipokine levels and Behcet disease (BD). They conducted a meta-analysis of papers reporting on serum/plasma resistin, leptin, adiponectin and visfatin levels in patients with BD and in healthy controls (HCs). Data suggested that in patients with BD significantly higher circulating resistin, leptin and adiponectin levels and lower visfatin levels were seen vs in HCs. This suggested that adipokines probably played an important role in BD pathogenesis.
